Nothing is live yet — and we won't pretend otherwise. This page is the plan: what actually discounted last November with receipts, what rarely does, whether to buy now or wait by watch type, and today's live prices on our top picks. Verified deals land here when they go live.
Black Friday is the one week of the year when the affordable-automatic shelf genuinely moves — but not evenly. Some brands and lines discount every year at the same places by about the same amount; others put out a free strap and hold their price. Knowing which is which is the difference between waiting two months for a discount that comes and waiting two months for one that never does.
So this page does three things. It records what actually discounted last November, quoted from published deal roundups and dated, not remembered. It gives a buy-now-or-wait call for each type of watch we cover, with the reasoning. And it lists our current top picks with live prices, so that when a deal does land you can see exactly how far below the usual number it sits. There are no invented discounts on this page and no price predictions dressed up as facts — the same rules as everywhere else on the site.

What historically discounts — Black Friday 2025, with receipts
These are the deals two published roundups recorded during Black Friday week 2025 (27–28 November 2025), on watches and lines this site covers. They are last year's observations, not this year's promises — retailers change their minds, and a line that discounted 25% one year can discount 10% or nothing the next. We include them because the pattern is more useful than any single number.

Two things stand out. First, the Seiko discounts came from department stores, not from Seiko — we found no evidence of a Seiko-run Black Friday cut on its own US store, so if you are waiting for one, watch Macy's and Bloomingdale's rather than seikousa.com. Second, Citizen and Timex discount at their own stores, by a large and fairly consistent amount, which makes them the most predictable November buys in our coverage. Gear Patrol also noted that the price drops now "stretch deep into the week — and in many cases even longer", so missing the Friday itself is not fatal.
What rarely discounts
- Swiss brands at their own stores. Tissot's 2025 offer was a free strap, not a price cut. Hamilton's discounts came from retailers, not Hamilton. If a PRX or a Khaki Field is the plan, the number to watch is the Amazon marketplace price on the button below — it moves on its own schedule, sometimes well under list, sometimes over, and Black Friday is not reliably its low point.
- Watches that are already at the floor. The Invicta Pro Diver and the Casio Duro sit near their lowest sustainable price all year; a "Black Friday price" on either is usually the ordinary price with a badge. Buy them when you need them.
- Discontinued and seller-priced stock. The Seiko SNK809 is priced by whoever still has one. It does not go on sale; it goes up.
- Anything Amazon shows as "X% off list" all year. Several watches we cover carry a list-price strike-through on Amazon most weeks. That is the ordinary marketplace price, not a deal — the button shows it because Amazon reports it, and you should read it as a reference, not a discount.
Buy now, or wait for November?
Our honest call by type, based on the table above and the way each line is sold. This is judgment, not prophecy: if you need the watch for a birthday in October, buy it in October.

The Quick Picks table above and the cards below are the watches we would buy today, at today's date-stamped Amazon price. They are here so that in November you can compare a claimed deal against a real baseline. Where the button shows a struck-through list price, that is Amazon reporting one — read it as a reference point, not as a Black Friday deal. Where we have no verified price, the button says so rather than showing an old number. If you are gift shopping rather than deal hunting, the gift guides sort the same watches by recipient and budget.
How to tell a real deal from a fake one
- Compare against the live price here, not the crossed-out one. A "list price" on a marketplace listing is whatever the seller typed. The date-stamped price on this page is what the watch actually cost this week.
- Check the seller. On Amazon the same watch can be sold by Amazon, by an authorized dealer, or by a marketplace seller — with different warranties and return terms. Here is how to tell.
- Read "final sale" twice. The retailer Hamilton discount we found last year was no-returns. On a watch you haven't sized, that is a real cost.
- Beware the four-figure strike-through. A watch advertised as "$899 → $89" with no named movement is not a deal; it is a fashion watch at its normal price. If the listing won't name the caliber, that silence is the review.
- A discount doesn't change the fit. A 25%-off 45mm diver is still 45mm. Size first, then price.
How this page works in November
When Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals go live, this page — this URL — is where we post them. Each one will name the watch, the retailer, the price we saw and the date we saw it, and it will only be listed if it is on a watch we already cover and can verify. Amazon deals will show through the live buttons automatically; deals at other retailers will be listed in plain text with a link. Nothing gets posted from memory, and nothing gets posted early to "capture" the search — an empty deals list in October is the honest state of the world.
What we will not do
We will not invent a discount to have something to show. We will not predict that a watch "will be 25% off" because it was last year. We will not list a marketplace list-price strike-through as a Black Friday deal. And we will not recommend a watch on this page that we would not recommend at full price on the master list — a bad watch at 30% off is a bad watch.

When do Black Friday watch deals start in 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is 27 November and Cyber Monday is 30 November. Last year the affordable-watch deals were live by 27 November and, per Gear Patrol, stretched "deep into the week"; Citizen's and Bulova's own sales ran through 28 November, and Orient USA ran a pre-Black Friday code before the weekend. Verified 2026 deals will be posted on this page when they go live.
Do Seiko watches go on sale for Black Friday?
At department stores, yes: in November 2025 Macy's and Bloomingdale's listed Seiko 5 Sports, Presage Cocktail Time and Prospex divers at 10–25% off. We found no evidence of a Seiko-run discount on its own US store. That is last year's pattern, not a guarantee for this year.
Does Tissot discount for Black Friday?
Not at its own store, on the evidence we have: Tissot's 2025 Black Friday offer was a free strap with purchase, not a price cut. Amazon marketplace prices on the PRX move on their own schedule and can sit under list at any time of year — the live price on the button is the number to act on.
Should I wait for Black Friday to buy an automatic watch?
For a Citizen Tsuyosa, a Timex Marlin or a Seiko 5 Sports, waiting has paid off in past years. For an Orient, a Tissot or a Hamilton, the live marketplace price matters more than the calendar. For an Invicta or a Casio, there is nothing to wait for. And if you need the watch before November, buy it — a discount that arrives after the birthday is worth nothing.
